The Practical Nursing program focuses on concepts and skills necessary to be successfully employed in a variety of medical settings. The twelve month program consists of 1,350 hours of rigorous career training and hands-on application of skills. The program is nationally accredited by COE (Council on Occupational Education).

Program instruction incorporates lecture, technical presentations, laboratory demonstrations and practice, and clinical assignments at local hospitals and healthcare facilities. A minimum course completion score of 80% is required to progress to next course. Courses are scheduled once per year. Pre-entrance testing begins in January prior to the August class start date.

Licensure may be awarded by the State of West Virginia after successfully meeting licensure requirements and obtaining passing scores on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) for Practical Nursing.

New for 2024 Students who are accepted into the program must obtain their CPR Certification PRIOR to the start of school. It is not required for the interview, but is required for admission to the program.
