2025-2026 Pre-Entrance Test Dates
Your results are emailed to you following the test. Please make sure to use a valid email when you register.
TABE Test Information
Pre-Entrance Test for Cosmetology, Dental Assisting, and Electrical Technician programs
You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam. The exam will start promptly at 8:00 AM and no one will be admitted after the exam starts.
The test is given at the the Mercer County Technical Education Center.
If you fail to score the required score for the program, you can attend the Adult Basic Education Center and be tutored for the test. Then, you can register to take the TABE at MCTEC again.
Current high school students CANNOT BEGIN TUTORING with the Adult Basic Education Center until they graduate high school.
If you pass the test, (Educational Level 3 on English and Math) then please complete our online application.
The last date to provide TABE scores for Cosmetology is April 17, 2025 to be considered for the 2025-2026 cohort.

TABE pre-entrance test dates are set up starting in January. Please click on the link above in order to register for a test. You will be contacted by email about test date information, so make sure to verify your email address on registration. Confirmation is required before your TABE seat is secured.

TEAS Test Information
Pre-Entrance Test for the Practical Nursing Program
You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam. The exam will start promptly at 10:00 AM and no one will be admitted after the exam starts.
Registration for the TEAS test is at the Mercer County Technical Education Center Main Office. You must register and pay for the test prior to the test date.
The test is given at the Adult Basic Education Center in the Workforce Building (across from the DMV.) You must enter the building on the side, where the ABE entrance is located.
Park in the back lot. The front lot is reserved parking.
Your registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED.
Failure to test on your assigned date will require you to pay the $90.00 testing fee again. Testing fee is non-transferable with NO EXCEPTIONS.

You can choose to take the TEAS test at another school and have the results sent to the Mercer County Technical Education Center.

Taken the TEAS test at another location? Or have you taken the test previously with us? Submit your information to us in the form below. TEAS test scores are valid for two years prior to the start date of the program. (Example: August 20, 2024 start date - Valid TEAS scores from August 20, 2022 and forward)
Starting 01/15/2025, a passing score for the TEAS test is an overall score of 50 or above.
