Adult Background Check/Drug Testing Requirements
Per Mercer County policy (Policy J-25), all adults enrolled in day programs at the Mercer County Technical Education Center are required to obtain a criminal background check and undergo a drug test.
Drug testing will be conducted at the school on a random date after classes have started, but the procedure for obtaining a criminal background check should be started as soon as possible. You will be denied admission into a program at MCTEC until satisfactory background check results have been received.
To obtain a criminal background check, you may call 1-855-766-7746 or go to www.identogo.com to schedule an appointment to have your fingerprints taken at Community Connections in Princeton, West Virginia.
Future adult students need to have both a state and federal background check conducted. Results need to be sent to:
Mercer County Technical Education Center
1397 Stafford Drive
Princeton, WV 24740
The cost of the fingerprinting/state and federal background checks are approximately $48.00.
It is the student's responsibility to mail the documents and payment information in to the address located in the packet.
